Today, May 31, 2024, the entire Kurdish Exile Museum in Stockholm was scanned in 3D (the xyz dimensions) so that the museum can be rebuilt in 4D = xyz + h (time = history + the present + the future) which today is called virtual reality (Virtual Reality-VR)
— WHY THE KURDISH MUSEUM?
Kurdistan is the cradle of civilization. Until the religious totalitarian era arose, several civilizations flourished in Mesopotamia, which in modern times is called the Near East and the Middle East
At the turn of the last century oil came to play a devastating role for Kurdish civilization. The era of colonialism and dictatorship came and a large part of the Kurdish population was forced to leave Kurdistan and spread throughout the Middle East, Europe and many other parts of the world.
For many years I have been culturally active in exile in Sweden: In 2007 I founded the Kurdish Library and Museum Foundation. Then I acquired a permanent exhibition hall for the Kurdish cultural and historical objects that I had collected from all over the world.
May 16, 2024, the new private property owner unexpectedly canceled the museum’s premises with only three months’ notice, even though there is a nine-month notice clause in our contract.
The activity is now facing a crisis that I cannot handle on my own! It is a crisis of enormous magnitude, and I am overwhelmed by the burden of having to take care of this alone.
I have to move the extensive archive which contains 50 thousand units of books, magazines, newspapers, pictures, films, archival documents and unique Kurdish cultural historical items.
This is not just our history, it is our identity. No one knows where to turn or how to even begin.
In order for the activity to continue to flourish and grow, a restart is now needed. This can be possible in two ways:
— Find a new location (as it stands today with the new market rents this option is out of reach)
— Restart the museum in 4D Virtual Reality format with an AI (Oracle) presentation function.
We have taken the first step in this direction today. If this project is supported somewhere, we will use this advanced visual material to realize the project for our future generations.
Wish us luck!
